Uko Morita - Tea Cups, Tea pot, SQ Plate, Bowls and Vases

the Gift from Fire and Fingers

Uko Morita's ceramics are built upon the ancient Japanese tradition using his own aesthetics and contemporary techniques.
Each one of the pieces is individually crafted by Uko in his studio in Westhampton.

We have Tea cups, which are ones of the most popular items, Soup Bowls, Square plates and Vases.

" As with everything, clay has a unique way of behaving.
It is flexible and spontaneous, yet is has its own sense of movement. It is because of these characteristics that I like to work with this medium.
Clay and I have learned how to negotiate with each other to create structures and shapes that reflect my love of old ceramics and the personality that comes from my hands.
